ASSISTANT DESIGNER

Pelham, NY | Full-Time | Strictly In-House

Westchester-based women’s fashion design company is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Assistant Designer to support our Head Designer and dynamic design team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical design skills, a creative eye, and experience in women’s apparel design.

This is a strictly in-house position based in Pelham, NY. Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite full-time. Please review commute requirements before applying.

Responsibilities:

\n
• Execute on-brand Fashion CADs and design concepts
\n
• Create print patterns in Illustrator utilizing up to 15 colors
\n
• Draw CAD bodies in Illustrator and work efficiently in layers
\n
• Create and edit seasonal linesheets
\n
• Assist with embroidery layout and design
\n
• Support fittings, take detailed notes, and assist in product development
\n
• Collaborate closely with the Head Designer and design team on seasonal collections
\n
• Maintain accuracy, organization, and attention to detail across all projects
\n

Qualifications:

\n
• 5-10 years of women’s apparel experience required
\n
• Strong knowledge of garment construction and product development
\n
• Technical knowledge of FDS sheets
\n
• Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills required
\n
• Experience creating prints, CADs, and technical design work
\n
• Knowledge of embroidery layouts and design
\n
• Full proficiency with both Apple and PC platforms
\n
• Strong graphic and organizational skills
\n
• Must be proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
\n
• Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills
\n

Interview Process:

Candidates will be asked to complete a design exercise during the interview process using a garment and print provided by the company.
